Ravikumar Bhalavat, MD, DFAPA

Dr. Ravikumar Bhalavat, MD, is a  Dual Board-certified psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine in  Maryland, with over 15 years of experience providing expert mental health care to adults and older adults. He is the lead psychiatrist and Principal Investigator at American Psychiatric Care, where he combines advanced clinical treatment with cutting-edge psychiatric research.

Dr. Bhalavat specializes in depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, dementia, and complex mood conditions. He offers evidence-based treatments including psychiatric medication management, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS),  for treatment-resistant depression.

In addition to clinical care, Dr. Bhalavat leads and participates in national Phase 3 clinical trials for Major depression, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia, helping bring innovative psychiatric treatments to patients who may not have responded to traditional therapies. His work reflects a strong commitment to improving outcomes through research-driven, compassionate care.
